Coloring gold and cyberchips

Sometimes the muse takes me in very interesting directions, completely unexpected. In this little series of 3 pictures I started with the idea of creating a framed fragment, using the tangle enhancer “Aura tentacles” and adding more partial auras. The result reminds me of some crazy Cyber Chips flying through space, and it surprised me since it formed something very dramatic and almost like a sequence of the Tangled Journal Tiles I taught last week.

This is the first picture, and it's a little crazy crazy, look at those Cyberchips go!

The second picture was a bit different and included one larger cyberchip with a spherified All Stars (tangle by Tomàs Padros), and other random fragments from the Zentangle Primer.

Finally, this third one included golden nuggets in the center (a project I've been playing with for a long time), surrounded by pearls, both created with colored pencils. This one is a little different with only one Cyberchip. I started to play with the background forming spirals, and thought for a second that I had created a new tangle, but alas, it is much too similar so I'll just chalk to a tangleation (variation) of the pattern Scoodle (Zentangle). I love how it shades differently than Printemps, a bit more fun and dimensional.

This is the tangleation of Scoodle that I made: instead of adding only S curves randomly, I start with two dots, this way it seems like there is a bit more control over the destination of the second spiral. Additionally, I also added an aura to ONE of the spirals, not both, before continuing to the next fragment. And finally, rounding is fundamental for the dimensional shading. I love how it turned out on the background!

I'm very excited about these gold nuggets: I'm teaching a class on Coloring Gold, that is, how to create the gold nuggets (not the entire design) to my Art Club members, and perhaps after that I'll add another lesson on how to create the entire cyberchip frame.
