ZBL: Jenice Kee's Jeweled Garden
I finally have time to play with some of the classes in the Zentangle Beyond Language event. I am honored to be one of the 6 teachers teaching in this event, along with Shie Naritomi, Tomàs Padrós, Henriette Robben, Jenice Kee and Anica Gabrovec aka Zen Linea. The teachers developed projects based on the theme “Garden”, and the videos were made to be understandable without the use of excessive verbal instructions.
The project I tackled yesterday is Jenice Kee's Jeweled Garden done over a tan Zendala. Halfway through the project, I decided to add a hatched ribbon to the outer edge (because I love hatched ribbons so much). I'm sorry I did it because there was no room left for the other tangles, and I wish I had stayed the course to produce the Jenice's lovely dense mash of plants and jewels. I still love the result, though, what a great experience. Thank you Jenice!
Here's a work in progress before and after shading:

Thank you SO MUCH, Shie, for organizing and inviting me to this event, and thank you Jenice Kee for this spectacular Zendala project! You can see Jenice's original project here on her Instagram page.
If you’re interested in getting this collection of 6 videos, please visit Shie Naritomi’s video shop here. The cost is 10,000 Yen, which corresponds roughly to USD 80. The collection is only available for purchase until September 2022.

Last week the lovely Jane Osborne conducted us through a session at CZT After Hours creating a star string. After I filled it up with tangles - Hamsix (Alena Light), Betweed, Fluxecho (Lynn Mead) and others, I decided to shade this with ballpoint pen again - not my brightest decision. I think I might have overdone it this time…
