Wyfore Medallion Class

Yesterday Art Clubbers and I started Part 1 of the a class building the beautiful Wyfore Medallion. This medallion is constructed using a tangleation of Wyfore with a little bit of Bronx Cheer.

This is obviously a Zentangle Inspired piece, not really traditional classic Zentangle.

In Part 1 we started to create the line-art for the medallion:

Lots and lots of tiny tangling!

In Part 2 we'll proceed to do the shading.

The Clubbers did an amazing job!

Last Thursday Art Clubbers and I worked on Part 1 of the lovely Tree of Life ZIA project. We created the line-art for the tree branches, leaves and flowers. In Part 2 we'll work on the frame, background and shading.

I think we are all a little in love with Tomàs Padro's new tangle Medusa. Here I'm posting two simple tiles where I explored the shading and different ways to construct the underlying ogee grid. I suspect Medusa is going to appear more in my work very soon!

I had a blast making these two pieces combining Wartz (Genevieve Crabe) with Sinkhole and Spherify! The Art Raffle gave me this difficult combination, but it was a fun experiment and I'm super happy with it.

Last week Art Clubbers and I had a Tangle Play session including Wyfore - where we explore tangles and make index cards - and I decided to combine it with Drawings over a triangular string. Very fun to play with!
