Tan Depth meets Celtic Knot
Continuing to explore the Tan Depth technique over tan tiles. The one on the left was made during a sleepless night, random lines with zigzag and Fescu. Here’s the before and after shading of the first one:
The second one was a super fun idea, Celtic-looking W2 knot combining with the Tan Depth technique. LOOOVE this effect, so much fun.

Today we had a great class on how to create this Da Vinci inspired Zendala over tan paper. This design is also inspired by Zentangle’s ZenAgain class on the same topic. How fun!!!
Stylized Da Vinci sketchpage on tan Phi tile. Another fun little project for the members of my Art Club.
A tan Zendala inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci and Zentangle’s ZenAgain 2021 (a CZT event). A live class on this project is coming this Thursday, March 3, 2022 for my Art Clubbers!
This week I participated in the CZT event ZenAgain. One of the sessions channeled Leonardo Da Vinci and his wacky inventions over an opus tile.
This is the picture I created during the Ogee Grid class last Sunday. WHAT A FUN CLASS it was. We used so much media, gold pens, inking pens, watercolors, colored pencils, whew! Tangles are Moonpie (Zentangle), 123O’leary (Antonine Koval) and Fluxecho (Lynn Mead).
Another Ogee Grid piece in preparation for my class, this time in blue and orange, a favorite color combo of mine. Includes Ple-a tangle (Apple Lim) which is also part of Inktober. Does this count?
I had a ton of fun with these Ogee Grid pieces over Phi tan tiles inspired by historic ottoman textiles. So much detail! Tangles are Moon Pie, Fluxecho and 123 O’leary.
Day 10 of Inktober calls for Hirari (Midori Furuhashi). I dressed it up with colored pencils and brown ink over tan tile.
A couple of blossom tangles over tan paper. Lots of painting and treatment over this one! Super fun.
This is Jenice Kee's Jeweled Garden, part of Zentangle Beyond Language event. Halfway through, silly me decided to add a hatched ribbon, leaving no room for the other tangles! I like the result anyway, THANK YOU Jenice for a fantastic project.
