Tangling with my lovely niece
Summer time, time for school vacation. My beautiful 13-yr old niece Tami and her mother are visiting from Brasil, and seeing that she shows enormous interest in everything artistic -- she shares her aunt's passion for browsing through art stores for hours -- we sat down yesterday to create Zentangle on Renaissance tan tiles.
This is only her SECOND tile, and she did an amazing job, picking up the nuances of how to use highlight and dark shading while keeping the medium value of the tan paper. Look at that bold shading!
We used tangles Ribbon Showgirl, Scallops and Paradox. We used Copic markers, Conté white charcoal pencil over inked brown and black line-art, done over tan Zentangle tile.
And aside from being talented, she is beautiful and quickly turning into a lovely young lady. Can you tell I'm a proud auntie?
