Kwazeela and Pixiose

This week the focus tangle at the Shading & Exploring Zentangle® is Pixiose, an organic filler that reminds me of Printemps with leaves. It was deconstructed by Margaret Bremner here.  I combined it with my newest tangle Kwazeela, and formed this fun twisted ribbon composition.

I started with a couple of very simple strings, just large shallow waves in the center of the tile:

I am really enjoying the potential of Kwazeela, it's fun to create fronds and botanical ferns. After filling it up with Pixiose, I added a frame behind it all to finish off the picture.

And finally, I shaded Pixiose and Kwazeela, and added watercolor/marker background with some white gel pen drawing. I used copic markers and colored pencils to create the shading.
