Duotone Tangling Class and Pop-up
Last Thursday the Art Clubbers and I had a very fun class on how to create this landscape ZIA using two different tones of inking pens. We started by using a composite string:
We then developed the main “plants” using Organicize techniques such as “make into a branch” and grafting:
Here are some examples of crazy plants using similar approach:
After the foreground pieces were made we created the background using foreshortening techniques:
We also worked on the shading of the background
Here is the final picture after all the shading was completed, using tangles Dillo-tant (Lisa Goldman), Moonpie, Tipple and Bales (Zetangle):
At the end of the class I had a surprise for the clubbers, a pop-up that I made using similar visual language to the piece:
Here are a couple of shots from the pop-up:

One more Flower Pop-up card. I guess it was the recent Mother's day that prompted me to create so many flower cards. I'm not quite done with them yet. I created a mockup of the card first to see if the mechanism would work the way I wanted. The decoration is a mix of Mooka, Diva Dance and Tipple.
