Art and Tangle Challenge

I believe that Great Art is a combination of what I call “Art Enhancers”. With that in mind, I developed the Art & Tangle game card — brand new! — a deck with 48 Art Enhancers cards, three of which you see in the picture above.

My lovely friend Deb Correia then had the brilliant idea of creating an Art Challenge based on the Art Enhancer cards. So here it is! If it works and people like the challenge, I'll add more on a regular basis.

The challenge is to use AT LEAST these three Art Enhancers in your next tile (if you own the deck, you can use more). You don't need to own the game to participate, all the information is in this post. Here are the three cards:

Morphing

Gradual and slow transformation

At first, there is tangle envy

Eventually there is a compromise

A third hybrid pattern emerges

Always a surprise, a thing of beauty

Reversing the order can sometimes work better

Fancy 3D Auras

Creates strong barrier

Provides additional embellishment

Affects the entire drawing

Separates sections very visibly

Requires at least 3 auras

Middle section needs additional patterning

Can curve and adapt to 3D shapes

Framed Treasures

Transform something into a treasure

Attach importance and value to something else

Layered frames

Corners are important

Allow focal to breathe

Enhance without taking over

Here's an example of a tile that I created with these same three cards. Although I used two different types of morphs using filler tangles, you don't have to use these. Create your own, or use the morphs provided below.
